this synthetic moment

attending the panel discussion on the 1960's Black is Beautiful photography of Kwame Brathwaite a few weeks ago at The Museum of the City of New York again led me to Chelsea, where additional photos by Mr Brathwaite are included in David Nolan Gallery's current exhibit, This Synthetic Moment.

to best understand the show, you must read the website and the profiles of each of the participating photographers and the point of view of the curator, David Hartt.

and then you must experience it in person before it closes on March 10th!

i don't want to grow up...

it is clara martin's maiden visit to new york city and all signs lead to a colorful first impression - from her candy striped business card to the array of jellybeans on her work table to the yellow, raspberry and space blue basics that shape her vivid line.

meet the autumn/winter 2016 collection: boyish, easy, accessible, defined by cotton jersey, matt lycra, drawstrings, slogans, bomber jackets and a statement making "grown up" overcoat with just the right amount of attitude.

"C" is for cables, cropped joggers, culottes, and most of all, confidence.

how cool to be in clara's club!
