For the theatergoers in the crowd...

Here is the Prospector Theater, a state of the art, community supported, first -run movie theater that sits on a gentle hillside beside the Ridgefield, Connecticut Library, accented in pink and full of pow!

It is the brainchild of Valerie Jensen, who created the theater as a not for profit venue dedicated to providing job and training opportunities to adults with disabilities.

Jensen and her team really know how to put on a show with no detail overlooked, from smiling greeters to stadium style seats to the 25,000 "heads up" pennies hand glued to the ceiling in the cafe, a nod to the original, historic bank building facade still in tact on Prospect Street.

Dynamic sculptural art, vibrant tile and wallpaper infuse the playful design and the top floor boasts the casual Star Bar restaurant, for great pre or post movie eats!

A dear friend and enthusiastic local resident shared the theater with me but you can make a field trip to Ridgefield for a first-hand experience.

Or, simply spread the word and share the inspiration behind this unique entrepreneurial endeavor!

Happy Thanksgiving!!  Let's go to the movies!
