What are your plans for 2015? Why not write a memoir?
Last night, I had the good fortune to attend literary agent and author Sarah Jane Freymann's discussion and book signing, held at Roberta Freymann Roller Rabbit Tribeca store.
Sarah Jane extolled the unique stories that are within each of us as well as the transformative powers of memoir writing itself.
Along with co-author and memoirist Brenda Peterson, she encouraged us to follow the prompts and tools presented in the book and hinted that Oprah, for one, agrees with the team's approach!
Your Life is a Book is available for purchase through www.amazon.com.
Happy writing!

life lessons
What was my favorite thing about voting last week at Emily Dickinson, P.S. 75?
It wasn't the bake sale, which was way too healthy for me this year.
It was the Life Lessons board in the hallway!
Kindergarten students narrated a small tale of a learning related fear or challenge and how they overcame it, perhaps by helping others, perhaps by teaming up with friends or family to solve a problem, or maybe just by mastering a new task on their own.
In each example, their confidence level shifted and their mood changed from sad to happy!
Slow and steady wins the race, the tortoise always says.....
